Sore fingers and lemon curd

I just finished my display board and have taken pictures. I attached the cards to black foamboard with dressmaking pins and boy does it hurt fingers trying to push them in.

I have also sourced jars, eggs, and lemons just sugar and butter left.

doesn't sound much but I have been busy busy all morning. I am spending the rest of the day inventing some make and takes for Thursday and cutting out all the little pieces to bag up.

Today's news

Today has been blisteringly hot. The Phinster just rang and said Coningsby was the hottest place in the universe. Too true. I am wanting to make some courgette and ginger jam but we are light a couple of courgettes. So I had communication from Sarah at RAF Coningsby about my demo on Thursday OK fine but my order hasn't arrived and I am having to make changes. I am going to have to go and sit somewhere cool - we have all the fans on and it is still HOT. I am posting an old piccy. Well why not is what I say.

Lemon Curd

I was up early this morning - so what's new and got stuck in to this lemon curd. I was going to take a picture but I have lost the camera - so what's new. Then I took myself off to Donington to a craft fair, bought some tasty chutneys and pickled onions. The other day Jan said the guy at the pub when told of my lemon curd making asked if I had any to sell. A little light went off in my head when I was at the craft fair. I could do this! Even funnier at the craft fair I had a go on the tombola and I won (hurray) a shopping list pad (boo) if you remember I just bought a ton of these to make altered items. ho hum such is life.

Well folks I have 2 customers for the lemon curd and Peter (DH) is going to get me a box from Clive.

And then it was now. Found the camera it is behind me (Oh no it isn't!)

Where's my stuff

I ordered my stuff from my grande evente on Sunday and it hasn't arrived. I contacted the main man in Germany and apparently the courier company has 'lost a pallet'. OK my first venture into commercial endeavours and the b*****8s lose the pallet. so now I have to ring up all the peeps who have ordered and grovel. Oh well you can't have a blog without piccies so I am going to look for one to edify you. Suitably edified? Shame the glue came unstuck. Ha ha ha. I am going to make a whole cake but the next one will be a chocolate cake. Watch this space.........

Best intentions

Well my good friend Helen pitched up on Tuesday with a bag full of lemons and sugar. I
mistakenly gave her a jar of my lemon curd a couple of weeks ago and she loved it so much that she wanted the recipe. I gave her the recipe which she duly copied. 'Ach it didnae work I had to throw it away' quoth she. It transpired that she had omitted the butter and the sugar! Ho hum. So she brought me 6 lemons and enough sugar to sink the Titanic. I am a soft touch really as I went and got butter and eggs to make her 3 or 4 jars.

I got the cold play stamp set yesterday and had a go at stamping a card. I think I should have used the biggest set but this is just playing around. Watch out for the avalanche. I used black card and tore the hill in whisper white. Snowman is stamped on Whisper white and I used real red for the accents.

New Kid on the blogging block

I have been putting this off for literally years, but I decided to bite the bullet (knowing my luck it will explode and blow my head off) and start blogging. Mind you in the heart of deepest Lincolnshire not a lot happens.

You may have guessed that the piccie in my profile is not me. This is Thomas, my great nephew hes a year and a half old and I just don't get to see him as often as I would like.

I started recently as a SU demo, it's slow starting as I don't know many people hereabouts, but it's building slowly.

This week I have been working on some hostess gifts, shopping lists, note pads, paperclip bookmarks and hand stamped candles. Here is a an example of some of the stuff I am working on. I made these for my bro' inlaws birthday yesterday. The card is not stamping up materials as I have a lot of stash that needs using so I am trying to use it making family cards. The little gifts are all SU apart from the hardware.

Well there you go my first blog. Iwasn't that hard at all. Now I have to work out how to get my link into my siggy without deleting everything.
